Pavel Šporcl – Blue Violin Man
Two worlds that are much closer than they seem. The new "Bacha na Rebela" program presents Pavel Šporcl in all his interpretative and creative breadth – as a respected violinist of the Baroque tradition and as an energetic rebel who combines classics with modern genres, thus bringing new life to music.
The first part of the concert will feature music by Johann Sebastian Bach from Šporcl's new album AIR, including the famous Air or Badinerie, and violin concertos and double concertos. The performance of these masterpieces will emphasize Bach's timelessness, inner balance, peace, perfect musical architecture and extraordinary emotional power. All this in the interpretation of Pavel Šporcl and the Šporcl Chamber Players - an ensemble consisting of leading Czech musicians and Pavel's long-time colleagues. Top Czech oboist Vilém Veverka will also perform as a guest.
The second part will belong to the Rebel with the Blue Violin project - a rock-tinged show with a band that has moved Pavel into a completely new artistic dimension. Well-known hits by Queen, Led Zeppelin and other iconic bands are combined here with the virtuosity of the classical violinist. And none of this is a coincidence - these rock greats admired Bach and transferred his harmonic principles and energy into their music. The Rebel with the Blue Violin album received a Golden Record, which confirms that this unconventional concept has appealed to a wide audience across genres. The "Bacha na Rebela" concert is not just a contrast of two styles – it is their natural meeting, a dialogue between the past and the present, between the spiritual purity of the Baroque and the raw energy of modern music. It shows how wide the world of the violin can be and how far it can go when tradition is not afraid to meet with courage and new ideas.
The result is an absolutely exceptional, original and globally unique concert. A musical connection that has never been seen before. And on top of that, with a New Year's toast!
