Czech players will compete against Korea in the first round of the new model of Davis cup qualifiers. The matches will be played on January 31 (two singles) and February 1 (two singles and a doubles game) in the newly renovated RT TORAX arena in Ostrava Poruba with a capacity of 3,000 spectators. The winner of the match will then play in September for a place in the final group with the winner of the USA vs. Chinese Taipei match. The Czech team will be led by captain Tomáš Berdych, who drafted the three best singles players Tomáš Macháč, Jiří Lehečka and Jakub Menšík for the January nomination.
