Floods in Czechia complicate situation in Ostrava

Publikováno: 16.9.2024

Due to ongoing floods in many parts of Czech republic, there are several restrictions affecting people travelling to and from Ostrava. Both largest train stations (Ostrava Main Station and Ostrava Svinov) are partly under water and no trains are coming to and from Ostrava. Bus transport is organised from the Main Station which can take passengers to train stations in surrounding cities on their route.

Public transport is operating but the time schedule follows the weekend timetable. You can also expect some delays due to some unexpected events along the way.

Three of our Infocenters - INFOCENTER SVINOV, INFOCENTER PŘÍVOZ and INFOCENTER TOWER will be closed until September 18. And since Přívoz and Svinov are still dealing with the effects of the floods, the closing of these two branches might be even longer than that.

We advise all of you to stay safe, avoid travelling unless absolutely necessary and if you do need to travel, pay attention to all the possible closures and all the possible travelling restrictions which may affect you. You can also find all the important information here (albeit in Czech)
