World-class beach volleyball is coming to Ostrava – and it would be a shame to just stay in the stands. J&T Bank Ostrava Beach Pro offers a chance to experience the city in its most vibrant form: top-notch sport, a great atmosphere, a varied accompanying program and other attractions just a couple of minutes from the venue.

During the day, it is definitely worth using the breaks between matches to explore the surroundings. Take a walk through the Dolní Vítkovice area, where a former industrial area has become one of the most iconic places in the entire region. The dominant feature is the Bolt Tower, a unique blast furnace extension, from which a fascinating view of Ostrava and its rich industrial past opens up.

What next? The city awaits

After the sports programme is over, it is the ideal time to slow down and soak up the local atmosphere. Another easily accessible destination worth visiting is the New City Hall Observation Tower. As the tallest town hall tower in the Czech Republic, it offers a completely different perspective. While the Bolt Tower offers mainly the industrial views of Ostrava, the town hall observation deck gives you a broader context – the river, greenery and the center in one coherent panorama. From there it is only a short walk to the center. It is ideal to head to Masaryk Square, walk around its surroundings and take a break in one of the local cafes or restaurants. Culture enthusiasts will be delighted by a tour of the Ostrava Museum, while lovers of exoticism can visit Papilonia – a butterfly house. Art lovers will also find something to their liking – PLATO Gallery Ostrava, located in the former city slaughterhouse, is one of the most prominent centers of contemporary art, while the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava offers rich collections and exhibitions connecting classical and modern art.

Transport to the center and to the Vítkovice area

Moving between the Dolní Vítkovice area and the center of Ostrava is simple and easy to manage on foot, on shared bikes or by public transport. Due to road closures and tram closures, we recommend that you follow the website of the Ostrava Public Transport Company or search for connections using the IDOS application.

The organizer does not recommend parking in the Dolní Vítkovice area during the tournament, as there are not enough spaces. Parking options can be found HERE.
