Summer blues under the Sýkora bridge

A dance evening called Summer Blues under the Sýkora bridge will take place under the Miloš Sýkora Bridge on Sunday, August 9. The event was originally supposed to take place in June, but due to adverse weather conditions, it was postponed to August.

“We are continuing a popular tradition that we founded in 2020. It was created as a way to bring people the joy of music, dance and let them meet other people even during the difficult times of Covid. What started as one bold idea has turned into one of the most popular events of our Swing Summer over the years,” says Karin Raszková from the Ostrava Elegant association.

“The interest in the dance event under the Sýkora Bridge has exceeded our expectations from the very beginning. For the seventh year in a row, we have been amazed by the great atmosphere that visitors create together,” adds Raszková.

As per usual, there will be great music at this swing event as well. The energetic band Swingalia will provide the music program, which will perform in full. Thanks to their love of music, musicianship and contagious energy, they can always get the whole floor dancing. They will also prepare a special program for the dance event under the Sýkora bridge and will include a number of blues songs in their repertoire, which will perfectly underline the atmosphere of this year's evening.

Visit the new bistro

This year will also bring one pleasant novelty. The new Bistro Pod Sýkorákem was recently opened in the space under the Sýkora Bridge, which offers delicious beer and quality foods.

Of course, the legendary Cyklobar Elegant will also be present with stylish drinks and homemade cakes from Karinka. Thanks to the new bistro, this year's dance hall will expand by another dimension and will offer visitors not only a musical and dance experience, but also a pleasant summer gathering with quality refreshments.

The program starts at 4 p.m., admission is free.
