Sights and Architecture

The corner four-storey building by architect Marie Frommerová dates from 1930. In 1933, it was extended by a neighbouring three-storey house. The basis of this building is a steel structure complemented by brickwork, marble and glass. Inside, there is a stepped system of galleries with a continuous hall, which is exceptional among department stores. In 1995, the building was awarded the International Prize of the Grand Prix of Architects (Madrid). The building is privately owned and its reconstruction is being prepared.
