...or the former Mining House. The building was built in the years 1924-1926 according to the project by Alois Kubíček, František Kolář and Jan Rubý at the expense of the Miners' Union.
The corner four-storey building without a front facade with fronts to three streets is conceived as an innovation of the classicist tradition. The facade of the side entrance is decorated with four statues of miners and cokeers by Augustin Handzel. During the so-called First Republic, there was a two-storey café and bar with a "jazz band". The café was a popular place where Oldřich Nový, Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich used to go after the performance. They were traditional guests here and automatically had an open account.
The last reconstruction took place in the mid-1990s. The exterior was renovated in the spirit of period classicist functionalism, the interior of the café in the art deco style.
