Sights and Architecture

The corner building from 1929, designed by Karel Kotas, is the second realized project of this Kotěra’s student. Once the building was owned by Insurance Company „Riunione Adriatica di Sicurta” in Trieste. In thirties there was a well-known two-storey cafe SAVOY. After the Second World War there was a department store „Rozvoj”.

The traditionalistic construction with a tall tower is decorated with an installation symbolizing Trade, Agriculture and Mining Industry. The ceramic facade is divided by a row of high pillars and a raised attic. Currently, the building is being used for commercial and residental purposes.
